Art Center summer camps are a go

The annual youth art camp at The Art Center will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.,  July 6-10 for ages 6 to 8, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., July 13-17, for ages 9 to 14. Each summer the camp offers a new theme, and students practice a variety of techniques.

Back2School blast to be cruise in

The Hart County School System’s Back 2 School Blast is just that. It is back. This year, though, the event will be a bit altered due to COVID-19 restrictions. The event will be from 9-11 a.m., July 25.

City businesses power through virus closures

Folks in Hartwell are split about their comfort level for heading out to local stores and restaurants, according to   survey conducted by Hartwell Main Street and the city’s economic development department.  But split or no split, business must go on, say some downtown Hartwell business owners.

Tensions flare in annexation discussion

The annexation of Hartwell Lakeside into the city limits took a step backwards on Monday when tensions flared between county and city officials.
