Cooling bill assistance available

Households in Hart County that have not received heating or cooling assistance since November 2019 will again be eligible for the aid through Ninth District Opportunity, Inc., beginning on July 1.  Eligible applicants can contact Ninth District’s scheduling system starting at 12:01 a.m.

Three new sailboats adorn downtown Hartwell

Three new sailboat sculptures are standing in downtown Hartwell.  A sailboat at the corner of Franklin Street and Forest Avenue, in front of Market 50, was donated by a group of more than 30 couples and individuals who wanted to erect one with a theme of friendship.

Site off hazardous list, back on market

A former industrial site in Hartwell that was on the state’s Hazardous Site Inventory is off the list and back on the market and a local Realtor is hoping it will be the home of another job creating business for Hart County.

A virtual vacation bible school wasn’t Hartwell First Baptist Church Children’s Director Jennifer Craft’s first choice for this summer, but she says the church is making the most of it.
