Jail meals contract awarded

The downtown Hartwell restaurant Backtracks is now serving food to inmates at the Hart County Jail. The Hart County Board of Commissioners on Dec. 20 approved the restaurant to take over the food service at the jail during a special called meeting. The county is paying Backtracks $3.

A Hartwell man accused of shooting multiple rounds at a car his family was inside of was arrested last Thursday after deputies located him in the woods using a bloodhound. Jerry Joseph Teasley, 41, 551 Green Meadows Drive, was arrested on Jan.
