Chamber of Commerce to move to Carolina St.

A downtown building will  soon be the new home for the Hart County Chamber of Commerce. The chamber announced recently it will be moving from its current location on East Howell Street to 10 South Carolina Street. The move is expected to be finished sometime in January.

Youth have spoken: ‘We want a movie theater’

The Hartwell City Council welcomed a new member and heard a presentation about the desire for a movie theater in the city at its first meeting of the year on Monday, Jan. 6. Stephen “Doc” Ayers took his oath of office prior to the meeting, administered by city manager Jon Herschell.

Tax commissioner honored

Retiring Hart County Commissioner Burl Pierce was honored for his 14 years of service recently by his colleagues. They presented Pierce with a plaque on Dec. 18.
