Drive-through testing coming to the area

Drive through testing sites for COVID-19 are now available in each of the state’s public health districts, and the state is prioritizing patients who need tests the most during this pandemic as the death toll in Georgia rose to 10 on Thursday.

County Commissioner: No plans to place curfew or close businesses

The Hart County Board of Commissioners chairman said Wednesday he has no plans to order a curfew or for businesses to close in Hart County in response the novel coronavirus pandemic that has prompted a wave of similar measures around Georgia and the country in the past week.

Bass club holds tournament

Lee Mapp is loving life

Library Friends to host local authors

Local authors will have an opportunity to show off their work and sell some books in May. Hart County Friends of the Library are hosting an Author’s Night at the Library from 5:30-7 p.m., May 14, at the Hart County library, 150 Benson St., in Hartwell.

The Hartwell Police Department reported the following incidents and citations: One tire requirements citation; one expired vehicle tag; one no insurance; one failure to dim headlights; one defective equipment; one failure to register vehicle.

Schools adjust to virus closure

The Hart County Charter System began its meal program Tuesday, March 18. The school system will provide meals to children ages 18 and younger, free of charge. Children must be present to receive the meals. Families can pick up the meals at their zoned elementary schools between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
