Hart County fire called arson by investigators

Fire investigators are offering $10,000 for information leading to answers after a house in Hart County they say was intentionally lit on fire burned to the ground. An unoccupied home at 998 Zipps Road went up in flames around 6:40 p.m. on Feb.

Traffic crash leads to meth arrest

An allegedly intoxicated driver, who plowed her car into the guardrail on Interstate 85, led to one deputy’s first-ever methamphetamine-trafficking bust late Sunday night. Melony Hogan, 38, of 305 26th Street, Ellijay, was arrested around 11:30 p.m.

Hart Community Theatre hosting children's workshop

Hart County Community Theatre is hosting its annual children’s workshop again this summer and will feature Disney’s “The Lion King Kids.” Registration and auditions are set for 3-5 p.m., March 6-8 at the theater, 83 Depot St., in downtown Hartwell.

Bow-Wow Meow returns

Bow-Wow Meow Bingo is coming back to benefit the Hart County Humane Society. The event will be from noon to 3 p.m. on Friday, March 27, at Casa Grande, 392 Franklin St., in Hartwell. Tickets are $20 per person and include a buffet lunch, a drink, the tip and two free bingo cards.
