Flood waters washed away roads and damaged homes and cars in Hart County last Thursday, all while a tornado warning threatened the area — but the precipitation isn’t over yet, meteorologists say. The barrage of rain and flash flooding on Feb. 6 turned to snow on Feb.

Dual enrollment bill could impact Hart

If Georgia House Bill 444 is adopted and signed by Gov. Brian Kemp, dual enrollment will be restricted in high schools throughout Georgia. The bill that passed the Senate on Jan. 28 would limit students to 30 hours of college courses paid for by state funds.

450 voters removed from rolls in Hart Co.

In Hart County alone, 450 names have been taken off of voter registration rolls after a federal judge in December denied an attempt by activists to have more than 98,000 names restored to Georgia voter registration rolls.

An expo scheduled for March will provide area residents an opportunity to learn about healthy aging options. Lake Hartwell Active Aging Resources will host Generations Expo: Healthy Aging Options from 5-7 p.m., on March 26, at the Hart County AgriScience Center, 1951 Bowman Highway.

Caroline Page was crowned Miss Hart County High School on Feb. 1 at the Lonnie Burns Fine Arts Center on campus at Hart County High School. Page, who also won Miss Congeniality, competed against 13 other girls from all four grades for the title.
