Girls secure No. 3 seed

A region-tournament trophy wasn’t in store for the Hart County High School Lady Dogs this year, but they did end the tournament on a high note over the weekend as they gear up for the state playoffs.

Soccer teams look to seniors for leadership in 2020

Hart County Boys and Girls Soccer teams both look to improve upon last season’s success with the help of strong senior classes. Last season, the boys were 12-7 and made the playoffs for the first time since 2003.

Pair of Bulldogs sign to play at Cumberlands

A pair of Hart County Bulldog defenders will be looking to make a name for themselves in the collegiate football ranks this fall — at the same university. Hart County defensive lineman Corbin Burton and linebacker Jackson Canup inked National Letters of Intent on Feb.

Hart Co. runner heading to Reinhardt University

A Bulldog runner will soon swap her Hart County orange for blue and gold this Fall. Senior Jillian Hoell inked her name Friday morning to continue her cross country career at Reinhardt University. “It felt really good to sign it,” Hoell said at the ceremony.

8th-grade Lady Dogs take NEGIAA title

Hart County Middle School’s eighth-grade Lady Dogs rolled past Franklin County Saturday, Feb. 1, 51-21, to cap an undefeated season and take the Northeast Georgia Interscholastic Athletic Association championship.

Wrestlers take medals at Elbert County

About a week away from the area traditional wrestling tournament, the Hart County High School Mat Dogs continued to see quality mat time this week. The Mat Dogs traveled to Stephens County last Thursday for a tri-meet with the Indians and Franklin County.

Bullpups in midst of conference tournament

The Hart County Middle School basketball teams are in the midst of fighting through the conference tournament in Madison County this week after all four teams finished at least in the top-3 of their region with two teams finishing first in the region heading into tournament play.

Lady Dogs drop to .500 on season

A pair of losses over the past week moved the Hart County Lady Dogs to 12-12 (7-4) on the season, but the Lady Dogs still have one more region test before the region tournament. Hart County dropped Friday’s Senior Night game 58-52 at home.
