This week’s Athlete of the Week, presented by Johnson Heating & Air, goes to track and field’s senior athlete Luke Samples. Samples had a historic season where he reached new heights, as he broke his outdoor record with a mark of 16-feet 8.

The Lady Dogs capture the State Championship, while the Dogs finish as the State Runner-Up.On May 18-19, Hart traveled to the Okefenokee Country Club down in Blackshear to compete in the boys and girls Class AA Golf State Championship.

A multitude of Track Dogs advance to the State Meet after qualifying at Sectionals.On May 2, Hart traveled to Commerce to compete in Sectionals at East Jackson High School, as the top eight in each event would advance to the State Meet.

The Lady Dogs postseason run ends at the hands of Morgan County in the Elite Eight.On April 29, Hart, seeded No. 21, hosted the No. 28 seeded Lady Mountaineers of North Murray. Before the match had even begun, Hart had a 2-0 lead, as North Murray forfeited No. 1 singles and No. 2 doubles.
