City council rolling back millage rate

Property owners in the city of Hartwell will see a slight decrease to their property taxes after the city council rolled back the millage rate  from 10.7 mils to 10.3 mils on Friday.

Live stock shows coming to AgriScience Center

Several livestock shows will be held at the Hart County AgriScience Center in the upcoming month. The Georgia Farm Bureau Steer and Heifer Show will be at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 16. The AgGeorgia Farm Credit Heifer Show will be at 8 a.m. on Nov. 23.

Hart County recognizes heroes on Veterans Day

Hart County veterans got a double dose of appreciation on Monday from both Hart County Middle and High School.  The middle school was first with its program in the school’s gym. The choir and the band both performed and veterans from different branches of the military were recognized.
