Teacher follows in family tradition

Teaching is a family tradition for Kathleen Teel.  Her grandfather, grandmother, great aunts and her mother were all teachers. It should come as no surprise then that Teel is now in her 22nd year as an educator, and she is getting noticed for it.

Imagine being told you have a life-threatening condition with no cure. Now, imagine being told that in high school. That nightmare became a reality for Courtney Turner in July 2015.

Proposed high speed rail could run through Hart County

A high-speed passenger train from Atlanta to Charlotte, N.C., is in the works and two proposed routes appear to run through or near Hart County and Hartwell. The project is in it’s early stages and it is still unclear how it will be funded.

Hart schools improve accountability score

Hart County Charter System’s overall College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) score continues to increase from previous years, but it slipped just below the state average, according to a report released last week by the state Department of Education.
