Teacher follows in family tradition

Teaching is a family tradition for Kathleen Teel.  Her grandfather, grandmother, great aunts and her mother were all teachers. It should come as no surprise then that Teel is now in her 22nd year as an educator, and she is getting noticed for it.

A bookworm's delight: New book vending machine comes to Hartwell Elementary

Duke Swafford had an important decision to make with the eyes of a packed gymnasium at Hartwell Elementary on him, adding to the pressure.  The moment on Oct. 24 at the ribbon cutting for the new machine was a lot for a kindergartener. Duke was up to the challenge.
