Lake Foods is business of the month

Lake Foods is the Hart County Chamber of Commerce’s Business of the Month for August. Lake Foods began operations in Hart County in 2014 with 28 employees and a commitment to become a manufacturer of top-quality poultry products.

Purina in Hartwell aids company's sustainable efforts

Purina has reached the company’s 2020 goal to achieve zero waste for disposal across all manufacturing operations, thanks in large part to the Hartwell facility, company officials announced last week.

Bookmobile provides more than 1,200 books

Hart Partners distrubted more than 1,200 books across Hart County this summer through its annual Bookmobile.  Officials said chidlren were excited to receive new books to read during Bookmobile stops at daycares, in neighborhoods and at all five Dollar General stores in Hart County.

Doctor calls for school mask rule

Restaurant rebuilding on Depot Street

Work is in full swing at 113 Depot St. in downtown Hartwell to rebuild a restaurant gutted by a fire a year ago.  Little Japan caught fire overnight on Aug. 9, 2019, sending flames high into the sky, rendering the restaurant a total loss and severely damaging the salon next door.
