Golden K selling bee traps

Hart Co. Golden K is once again selling carpenter bee traps. The pesky bees can cause serious damage to decks, trim and other things made of wood, and Golden K members say their traps can help keep the backyard population in check.

Precise cutz salon cuts the ribbon

Precise Cutz, a new salon in downtown Hartwell, officially cut the ribbon with the help of Hartwell Main Street on Feb. 11. The salon offers a full range of styling services at 238 E. Howell Street in downtown Hartwell.

Fourth Fridays returning with ‘The Croods’

Families in Hart County will have the opportunity to catch movie for free on Feb. 26. Hart Youth Development Resourse Association, or HYDRA, is hosting Fourth Fridays again and will show “The Croods: A New Age” for free at 6:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 26, at 200 Clay Street in Hartwell.

Food available through Farmers to Families

A U.S. Department of Agriculture program will offer free food to families in need later this month through the Farmers to Families Food Box program, hosted by the Hartwell Rotary Club. Families who need a box of food can come by Hartwell First United Methodist Church, 132 S.
