Annual Law Day essay contest open to students

The Northern Judicial Circuit Juvenile Court is sponsoring a Law Day Essay contest for area students. It is an annual tradition for Juvenile Court Judge Warren C. Caswell. This year is the 16th consecutive year of the contest.

Polar Bear Plunge to be virtual in 2021

The 25th annual Polar Bear Plunge to benefit the Northeast Georgia Council on Domestic Violence will be a virtual event this year, but will still have the same mission.

DARE students win essay contest

The 2021 DARE, or Drug Abuse Resistance Education, class at Hartwell Elementary graduated on Jan. 27, three students were recognized as the DARE essay winners.

A children's picnic table at the Hart County Botanical Garden believed to have been stolen last week has been found. Garden president Lorin Clark said the table, which was donated to the garden by the Hartwell Rotary Club, appeared to have been taken sometime between Tuesday, Jan.
