‘Second-chance’ high school available

Mountain Education Charter High School (MECHS) provides people throughout north Georgia with a non-traditional evening high school experience and has a location in Bowman. MECHS offers a full range of classes at 100 percent tuition free for full-time students.

Polar plunger celebrates 25 years

Once-a-year, every year, for the past 25 years, Hart County resident Sharon Swint has plunged into frigid waters, typically donning a humorous costume, but always for a good cause.

March 25, 1949— A Textron’s new $3,500,000 manufacturing plant was  expected to be completed the coming Friday. The 120,000 square foot building was said to occupy “the space of a large city block- all under one great roof.

German-language class to be taught at high school

Hart County High School will soon be offering German as a foreign language. The third foreign language offered at the high school, after Spanish and Latin,  has already garnered interest by students signing up for next semester’s classes.

DIAMOND DAYS

Little League is back. Hart County’s youth returned to the diamonds on Saturday, March. 20 to tee off a new season of Little League baseball and softball action a year after the coronavirus pandemic forced the season to be cancelled.
