Insurance agency gives building new life

The Shoppe on the Square building has found new life under the new owner Major Harris. Harris bought the building, renovated it, split the building into two offices with walls downstairs while living in the upstairs apartment.

Bowersville talks pet boarding

The town council of Bowersville had the first reading of an ordinance for the boarding, grooming and breeding of dogs at a called meeting on March 4. The need for an ordinance was sparked by Anna Roberts, a local pet groomer, wanting to open a boarding and grooming facility in Bowersville.

Chamber welcomes new director

The Hart County Chamber of Commerce has named Terri Partain as its new executive director. Partain has spent 20 years in the healthcare and healthcare sales and marketing fields. She also created her own company, Cardinal Home Partners, a non-medical home-care company, which she sold in 2019.

March 11, 1927 ­­— There was enough cream shipped from Hartwell the previous Friday to produce 989 pounds of creamery butter. The receipts “surpassed any record since the cream depot was opened” and $410.56 cash was paid out for the cream.

Teacher vaccinations begin at Hart Co. schools

Teachers and other school employees are starting to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. The Hart County Charter System is working with the Hart County Health Department to vaccinate its employees and began administering vaccines to employees this week.

Pair of crashes claim two lives in same day

By Grayson Williams Staff writer A pair of crashes on the same day last week claimed two lives in Hart County. In the first, a log truck’s load apparently shifted in a curve on Royston Highway early last Thursday morning, causing a crash that involved a fatality, the Hart County Sheriff said.
