The Hart County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests: Feb. 17 • Cody Leroy Fields, 29, of Hartwell, was arrested and charged with theft by conversion, possession of a schedule III drug, possession of methamphetamine and drug related objects (HPD).

Bowersville sets event alcohol fee

The town of Bowersville will soon be able to host events with alcohol sales after establishing an alcohol special event license fee at the Feb. 18 town council meeting. The council set the license fee at $50 and the application fee at $300 for a background check.

Municipal elections on tap in ’21

After a historic 2020 election and a runoff election in Georgia already this year, several municipal positions in Hart County will be decided in 2021. In Hartwell, three seats on the city council  and the mayor’s position will be up for election in 2021.
