Dogs head to Stephens County

The Hart County Bulldogs are heading to the Reservation on Friday to take on the Stephens County Indians as the Bulldogs look to improve their region standing.

Lady Bulldogs seek higher playoff seeding

The Hart County High School Lady Dogs’ basketball team is hoping some young talent on the team, along with some seasoned players, will help guide the team to victory this year — and hopefully a higher playoff seeding.

JV bulldogs rout Elbert

The Hart County High School junior varsity football team tromped Elbert County 39-14 at home last Thursday. Yari Barber and Nori Moore each trekked in two touchdowns, while Payne Oglesby and Jamir Rucker also added a touchdown apiece. The JV Dogs are scheduled to face T.L. Hanna (S.C.

Fighter wins debut bout

Tyler Barber, from Chuck Cawthon’s Contemporary Martial Arts in Hartwell, made his amateur MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) debut Saturday, Oct. 24th for the NFC (National Fighting Championship) at the Buckhead Saloon in Buckhead.

Softball season ends in state Sweet 16

The Sweet 16 turned sour for the Hart County High School Lady Diamond Dogs (18-12) on Friday as they dropped two games to Ringgold in the second round of the state playoffs to bring their winning season to a close — but head coach Katie Jo Gentry says the future is bright for the program.

DOGS NOTCH REGION WIN

History repeated itself Friday night. An undefeated, 5-0 Franklin County team had its hopes shot down by region-rival Hart County, just like in 1983 when the Bulldogs ended the Lions’ last 5-0 streak.
