Cross country dogs open season

The Hart County Cross Country teams traveled to Athens on Saturday to run its first meet of the year at the Northeast Georgia Championships. “It was a good meet for the first meet of the year,” coach Cecil Marett said.

Softball drops 2nd game of the season

The Hart County Lady Diamond Dogs lost a hard-fought battle against Rabun County 8-3 on Thursday, Aug. 20, after being tied at the top of the fifth inning. The loss brought their record on the year to 8-2.

Volleyball just keeps winning

The Hart County High School Volleydogs extended their hot streak with wins against Rabun, Franklin and Stephens counties this past week,  taking their record to 8-1 for the year. Washington Wilkes was unable to play on Thursday, Aug.

Outdoor pickleball coming to YMCA thanks to fundraising effort

The Bell Family YMCA and the Lake Hartwell Pickleball Club broke ground on new outdoor pickleball courts on Monday, Aug. 24. The four courts will cover 8,160 square feet and will take over a portion of the old baseball/softball field in front of the YMCA.

Lady Diamond Dogs dominating

The Hart County Lady Diamond Dogs continue their hot streak in dominating fashion, outscoring their last four opponents 43-9 to move the team’s overall record to 8-1. The offense took charge early on Friday as the Lady Dogs captured a 17-1 mercy-rule win over Morgan County.

Intrasquad games for football set

While football scrimmages between different teams are canceled under the Georgia High School Association’s coronavirus-prompted restrictions, the Hart County High School Bulldogs are scheduled to face-off against  each other on Friday as they try and finalize the 2020 schedule.

Maxwell hopes to soar as Georgia Southern Eagle

Hart County defensive back Montae Maxwell is fulfilling his lifelong dream. The standout senior recently committed to play football at Georgia Southern University next year, taking another step toward what he says has been his dream since he was a young child.

Softball off to a hot start

A late run on Friday cost the Hart County High School softball team its first game of the season, but the Lady Dogs brushed it off and secured two dominating wins over the weekend at the team’s home-opener and continued their hot streak Monday and Tuesday with a pair of big wins.

Cross Country Dogs look for strong state finish

The Hart County High School cross country teams are running full steam ahead into the upcoming season. The team modified its normal summer workouts to adhere to the Georgia High School Association’s pandemic-prompted restrictions and has been conducting workouts since July.
