ON TO THE ELITE 8

A dominating performance over Cherokee Bluff at Hart County High School on Saturday is sending the Bulldogs to the Class AAA Elite 8. Hart County was scheduled to face Thomson (15-6, 7-4) on Wednesday, March 3 at home, but details were not available as of press time.

Fishing teams take Russell

The Hart County High School and Middle School Anglers dominated the waters of Lake Russell over the weekend, reeling in a first-place team finish for the high school, pictured above. Collectively, Hart County reeled in 29.

Diamond Dogs start season 2-1

The No. 1 ranked Hart County High School Diamond Dogs are off to a 2-1 start to open the season. A 13-1 run-rule victory over George Walton Academy at home on Friday, Feb.

A boys’ basketball region championship trophy is returning to Hartwell for the first time since 2008. The Hart County High School Bulldogs battled to a  Region 8-AAA championship on Saturday, Feb. 20. after defeating the Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes 61-52 at home.

Boys soccer starts out 2-0, Girls battle but lose

Hat tricks are starting to become a habit for the Hart County High School boys’ soccer team. The Bulldogs captured a 7-0 victory over Banks County at home on Thursday, Feb. 11, to move their record to 2-0 on the season.

Track teams eye big season

Another trip to the state championship meet is on the minds of the Hart County High School Track Dogs this year. Head boys track coach Floyd Ramsey said the squad is looking good so far, but the participation numbers have dwindled from years past.
