Both the Hart County High School girls’ and boys’ soccer teams suffered region defeats at the hands of the top-ranked teams in the state last week.
The Hart County boys’ fell 5-0 to Oconee County, a top-ranked team statewide, on Friday, March 12 at home.

Racket Dogs find region success vs. Monroe Area

The Racket Dogs continued to swing up success in region play over the past week.
The Hart County High School boys’ and girls’ tennis teams both swept Monroe Area at home last Thursday, March 11 in all five lines 5-0, 5-0 for the second time this season.

Slow-pitch softball team is on a roll

A scorching hot start to the season continued at home on Monday for the Hart County High School slow-pitch softball team.
The Lady Dogs blasted rivals Franklin County in a double-header at home on Monday, March 15 as they downed the Lions 6-1 and then 13-5 to remain undefeated at 6-0 on the season.

REGION ROUT: Diamond Dogs win big over Monroe Area

A three-inning run-rule victory opened up region play for the No. 1 Hart County Diamond Dogs (9-2, 1-0).
Hart County blasted region opponent Monroe Area 15-0 at home on Monday in the team’s first region contest of the year as the game was cut short in the third inning via mercy rule.

Gymnast wins multiple medals at recent meet

Bella Beck, of Hartwell, recently cleaned up at a gymnastics meet on Feb. 27 in Cumming that was a benefit meet for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Bella earned first-place finishes in the vault, on the uneven bars, on the balance beam and in the all around competition.

Martial artist wins gold

Noah Wyckoff competed and earned several medals at the Newbreed Jiu Jitsu Federation Championship on Feb. 20 in Greenville, S.C. at the Greenville Convention Center. He won a gold medal in youth no gi, a silver medal in youth gi and a bronze medal in an older age and heavier weight gi division.
