Bulldog signs to presbyterian

Hart County High School senior football player Cobi Jones signed to compete at the next level on Tuesday, May 25. Jones signed with Presbyterian College, a Division I FCS program located in Clinton, South Carolina.

Local jiu jitsu fighters raise money to ‘tap out’ cancer

Chuck Cawthon’s Contemporary Martial Arts (CMA) in Hartwell had five competitors represent at the Tap Cancer Out Brazilian Jiu Jitsu tournament on Saturday, May 22 at the Phoenix Training Center in Atlanta. Five competitors for CMA  raised more than $1,000 collectively.

Bulldogs cap off spring with scrimmage

Hart County High School football fans got their first glimpse of the 2021 squad on Saturday, May 29 as the Bulldogs battled it out against one another in an inner-squad scrimmage at Herndon Stadium.

Hart tracksters compete at ‘Night of Champions’

Multiple Hart County High School track and field athletes earned top finishes at the Wingfoot Night of Champions in Marietta on May 22. The meet pits state champions, and other qualifiers, from all GHSA classifications against one another. Hart County’s state champion in pole vault A.J.

Little League all-star rosters released ahead of first District 7 tourney

Little League All-Star tournaments are back in action this year after the pandemic cancelled activities last year. Team rosters were released last week for Hart County’s all-star teams as they prepare for their District 7 tournaments and vie for a chance at the state tournament.

Local racer turns pro, preps to represent USA at world championships

Like many former college athletes, Mason Buchanan yearned for physical activity and competition when his football playing days were done. So the former Hart County High School and Gardner-Webb football player decided to get back into shape and compete in obstacle course races for fun.

Bulldogs hit field for practice ahead of spring game

The sound of pads clacking and crunching could once again be heard in Herndon Stadium on Monday as the Hart County High School football team got back to work with its first day of spring practice.

Lady Golf Dogs notch 5th place finish at state

A long season of top finishes for the Hart County High School girls’ golf team ends with a fifth-place finish in the state. The Hart County girls’ golf team notched fifth place at the Class AAA state championship tournament on Tuesday, May 18 at Apple Mountain Golf Club in Clarkesville.
