Softball adds wins to region record

The Hart County softball team adds two region wins and loses a non-region this past week. The Lady Diamond Dogs started off strong with a 17-3 win at home against Monroe Area on Friday, Sept. 10. The win came in only four innings because of the mercy rule.

Bullpups take the field in Herndon Stadium

The Hart County Middle School football team became the main attraction in Herndon Stadium this weekend after the cancellation of the high school game. The Bullpups played Madison County and lost 38-24 on Thursday, Sept. 9.

Hart’s Honey joins sidelines

A new unofficial mascot has taken the sideline at the Hart County football games. The five-month English Bulldog puppy named “Lil’ Bit O’ Honey,” or Honey for short, has stolen the hearts of the Bulldog Nation.

Volleydogs remain undefeated in September

The Hart County volleyball team has been perfect in the month of September, not dropping a single set. The Volleydogs remain undefeated in September after downing East Jackson, Franklin County, Monroe Area and Stephens County in the last week. On Tuesday, Sept.

The Hart County Middle and High School anglers kicked off the new season with an innerclub tournament on Saturday, Sept. 11. At the crack of dawn on the crisp September morning, anglers waited in their boats.

Cross-country team runs in Bogart

On Sep. 2, the Hart County Cross Country team traveled to North Oconee in Bogart to compete in the NOHS home meet against 16 other teams. For the Boys 5K, Hart County seniors Diego Martinez, Zachary Benner, and Cole Risner took 10th, 12th, and 33rd in the meet with times of 17:21.38, 17:35.

Volleydogs get revenge on Madison

The Hart County High School volleyball team beat Madison County after losing to them earlier in the season. On Sept. 7, the Volleydogs beat both Athens Christian and Madison County at Hart County High School.

Softball’s bad luck continues

Hart County softball team continues to perform below expectations as they lose to both Franklin County and Elbert County on the road this past week. The Lady Diamond Dogs travelled to Carnesville on Thursday, Sept. 2 and lost to the Lions 8-5.

Kelley Tramples Trojans

The Hart County Bulldogs beat the North Hall Trojans in a back-and-forth battle last Friday night. The Dogs pulled away in the fourth quarter in their victory Sept. 2. The Dog’s defense started strong with a 3-and-out after a North Hall kick-off return into Bulldog territory.

Volleydogs split region matches

The Hart County Volley won three matches and lost one this week to move their overall record to 11-2. On Tuesday, Aug, 26, Hart travelled to Banks County to  battle Rabun County and Banks.  Hart won both games against the non-region opponents in two sets.
