The Hart County Bulldogs will travel to Ringgold to play in the first round of the state AAA playoffs against the Ringgold Tigers this Friday. Ringgold is approximately 15 miles south of Chattannooga, Tenn. in the northeast corner of Georgia.

Lady Diamond Dogs make All-Region list

Despite a disappointing season, several Hart County softball players received all-region honors. Seniors Taikibrea “Red” Campbell and Annslee “Boo” Mitchell were named to the first-team all-region team, as well as sophomore Jazania Shealer.

Cross Country team places 3rd in state

The Boys Cross Country team placed third in state at the GHSA State Cross Country Championships 2021. The teams travelled to Carrollton on Nov. 5 to compete against teams from across the state.

Warm & Thankful coat drive underway in Hartwell

A local group for mothers is holding a coat drive and swap to keep children warm this winter. The Warm & Thankful Coat Drive/Coat Swap will be held Nov. 16 and 17 from 6 to 8:30 p.m at the Bowersville Community Center.

The Atlanta Braves won their first World Series since 1995 Tuesday night with a 7-0 victory over the Houston Astros. The Braves clinched a 4-2 series victory in Houston, with Jorge Soler earning series MVP.

Two former Bulldogs had impressive weekends for their college teams. Virginia Tech running back Malachi Thomas is fitting nicely into the role of the primary ball carrier in Blacksburg. The freshman carried the ball 25 times for 103 yards in Atlanta against Georgia Tech.

A Hart County runner took home a region championship at the region meet in Carnesville on Wednesday. The Hart County cross country teams competed in the GHSA Region 8-AAA Championships on Oct. 27. The boys team took second place over at the meet with a score of 51 points.
