Mason Buchanan competes in world championship obstacle course race

Local athlete Mason Buchanan competed in the Obstacle Course Racing World Championship in Stratton, Vermont on Sept.  25th. He placed 32nd in his age group and 241st out of 704 overall. There were more than 60 countries represented at the world championship.

Lady Diamond Dogs finish 4th, start playoff run

The Hart County softball team finished fourth in region and will play in the first round of the state playoffs this week. Hart County played Monroe Area in a best of three match-up this past weekend to determine the seeding in the region tournament.

Runners compete in Mountain Invitational

The Hart Country cross country team travelled to Helen to race in the Mountain Invitational 2021 at Unicoi State Park on Tuesday, Oct. 12. The boys team finished second overall with a total score of 118.

Volleydogs prepare for region tournament

The Hart County volleyball team faced tougher competition in the week before their region tournament. The Volleydogs fell to both AAAA schools they faced this past week. On Thursday, Oct. 7, Hart travelled to Bogart and lost 3-2 to North Oconee in a best of five match.

Warriors down dogs; Hart receives first loss of the season to Oconee

The Hart County Bulldogs  football team fell to last-season’s AAA runner-ups, Oconee County, on Friday, Oct. 9. The Dogs lost to the Warriors 35-13 and were out gained 505 to 395 in total yardage in what some considered an unofficial region championship game.

Dye lives up to No. 1 jersey honor

Every year, the Hart County High School football team chooses one senior to wear the No. 1 jersey, a badge of honor and leadership for the team. Last season, running back Malachi Thomas wore the number before signing to play collegiate Division I football at Virginia Tech this season.

Hart cross country runners show out at regional championship

By Drew Dotson Staff writer   Hart County High School’s Cross Country teams finished high at their home meet on Thursday, Sept. 30. Runners competed at the third annual Bulldog Early and NEGIAA Region Championship 2021 at the Hartwell Golf Club against teams from around the area.

Hart County shuts out Franklin County, 37-0: Hart County cruises, 37-0 en route to 5-0 record

The Hart County Bulldogs shut out the Franklin County Lions inside Ed Bryant Stadium in a 37-0 win to start their region play. Hart County’s defense limited Franklin County to 139 yards of total offense, an average of 3.1 yards per play, in their win on Friday, Oct. 1.
