Hart State Park Annexation Discussed

  On September 11, the Hartwell City Council voted unanimously to reopen discussions with the Hart County Board of Commissioners (BOC) regarding the potential city annexation of the former Hart State Park on Lake Hartwell.

Fall is just around the corner and Hartwell’s Main Street is once again sponsoring the annual Scarecrow Bash. Each year members of our community decorate scarecrows around town to celebrate the season and will be judged by the most creative designs.

Hart County grand jury hands down indictments

A Hart County grand jury handed down the following indictments: •Caleb Edward Risner, one count hit and run; one count driving while license suspended; and one count failure to stop at stop sign.
The Lights Out Predator Removal team, consisting of  (L-R) Mason Gomez, Travis Ballard and Bryan Gagnan finished in first place in The Dog Hoggers Annual Hunt for killing the three heaviest coyotes.  The event benefitted Toys for Tots and the Wounded Warrior Project.

Hunters manage wild boar and coyote threat in the county

As the populations of coyote and wild boar continue to grow each year in Georgia, so do the risks of disease, crop damage and the predation of pets and livestock. Fortunately for Hart County farmers and property owners who live outside the city limits, there’s help.
