Friends of Hart County Library to host classical concert

On Oct. 1, The Friends of the Hart County Library will host a Piatigorsky Foundation Concert featuring classical masterpieces from two outstanding artists: cellist Evan Drachman and pianist Wan-Chi Su. The concert will begin at 3 p.m.

SR 77 Spur closed at Little Coldwater Creek

On September 21, the Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) closed access to State Route 77 Spur at the Little Coldwater Creek bridge in Hart County, approximately 6.5 miles southeast of Hartwell.

County to maintain Bowersville roads

In a meeting of the Bowersville Town Council September 14, Mayor Pruitt Manley announced an intergovernmental agreement between Bowersville and the Hart County Board of Commissioners that allows the county to maintain town roads between East Main Street from State Route 51 south of town.

Commissioners table agreement with BOE

The Hart County Board of Commissioners voted Tuesday to table a new recreation/school system facilities use agreement with the school system that has caused some controversy among commissioners.

EMT’s provide care across long distances

Hart County’s Emergency Medical Technical Technicians (EMT) jokingly refer to themselves as the “redheaded step children” of local public safety. “People don’t really know what we do,” said Forrest Briggs, a paramedic and shift supervisor for Hart County Emergency Medical Services (EMS).

Little Shop of Horrors opens HCCT’s 44th Season

The Hart County Community Theatre (HCCT) kicks off its new season Sept. 21 with the debut of the musical Little Shop of Horrors. Dubbed the “Season of Laughter,” the HCCT’s 44th season brings four shows designed to make people laugh following its “Season of Redemption” the previous year.
