A last minute meeting of the Bowersville town council was called Sept. 22 to accept the resignation of post four councilman Ted Yeargin. The meeting, originally scheduled for Sept. 21, was forced to cancel due to a lack of a quorum. Just after 4 p.m.

Hart County travels to Carnesville to take on the Lions of Franklin County in the Lions Den for the 62nd meeting between the schools. There is so much history between the two schools that are separated by 20 miles. In 1964, the two schools met for the first time.

Despite uptick in unemployment, Hart’s labor force remains strong

The Georgia Department of Labor reported a rise in August unemployment rates throughout all of Georgia’s regional labor commissions including the Georgia Mountain Regional Commission (GMRC) that encompasses Hart County. The unemployment rate in the GMRC stood at 3.

On Oct. 1, The Friends of the Hart County Library will host a Piatigorsky Foundation Concert featuring classical masterpieces from two outstanding artists: cellist Evan Drachman and pianist Wan-Chi Su. The concert will begin at 3 p.m.
