Hart County voters head to the polls Nov. 7

The Hart County Board of Elections and Registration will hold a municipal general and special election on November 7, 2023. The town of Bowersville will hold a general election for the office of mayor as well as council post one and four. John B.

Hart County BOE achieves exemplary school board status

The Hart County Charter System was recognized as a 2023 Exemplary School Board by the Georgia School Boards Association (GSBA). The recognition program is designed to showcase best practices in school governance and leadership.

Ribbon cutting for remodeled Hartwell Walmart Oct. 20

On Friday, Oct. 20, Walmart customers in Hartwell will be welcomed inside the newly transformed Supercenter location at 1572 Anderson Highway. Store associates with mark the occasion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and in-store celebration beginning at 8:00 a.m.

Hartwell City Council Approves 2024 Budget

Following a first reading Oct. 2, the Hartwell City Council met Oct. 13 to vote on its proposed 2024 budget. The council voted 7-0 to approve the budget which stands at $7,062,985, and includes a payment of $540,850 towards the construction of the new Hartwell Fire Station.

4-H students shine at Forestry Field Day

Hart County 4-H students earned first place honors at the Forestry Field Day competition at Sandy Creek Nature Center Sept. 7 The competition, hosted by the Northeast District 4-H, tested students knowledge of several areas related to forestry including trees, insects, diseases, and mensuration.
