The Hart County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests:   Aug. 15   Artavious Blakely, 25, of Hartwell was arrested and charged with probation violation. Larry Eaton, 57, of Hartwell was arrested and charged with probation violation.

Local group of nonprofits plan 9/11 tribute weekend events

A host of local non-profit organizations have joined together to raise money while paying tribute to 9/11 and the first responder community in Hart County.

Sheriff’s office begins CHAMPS program

On Monday, Aug. 14, the Hart County Sheriff’s Office started its annual CHAMPS program at South Hart Elementary School. CHAMPS, which stands for Choosing Healthy Activities and Methods Promoting Safety is the sheriff’s office version of the drug education program.

South State Bank recently presented OneHartBeat Foundation Executive Director Bobbie Busha, Hart County High School Principal Kevin Gaines, and Hart County Middle School Principal Jacqueline Brock with a $2,500 donation for the REACH Hart scholarship program.
