Abused pigs make their way to local animal rescue

Three years ago, two extraordinary pigs named Webster and Sal found their way to Outsiders Farm & Sanctuary in nearby Bowersville. The story of Webster and Sal began in October 2020 with a daring rescue by the compassionate souls from the McKamey Animal Center in Chattanooga, TN.

Oglethorpe Power delivers $375,000 tax payment to Hart County

Oglethorpe Power and Hart EMC presented Oglethorpe Power’s 2023 ad valorem tax payment of more than $375,000 to the Hart County Tax Commissioner’s office on Feb. 22, which will benefit the county’s school systems and local government.

Sayer, Bennett, Dorsey seeking reelection

The Hart County Board of Commissioners (BOC) had a lengthy meeting on the evening of Feb. 27 to handle an array of old and new business. Chairman Marshall Sayer announced during the chairman’s report that while his term on the BOC is ending, he plans to re-qualify and seek reelection.

SkillsUSA students bring home state championships

Students from Hart County High School (HCHS) cleaned up at the SkillsUSA Georgia Leadership and Skills Conference February 22-24 in Atlanta, winning two state championships and taking home seven medals.
