Heavy rains and flooding couldn’t damper the spirits of the Hart County Chamber of Commerce which held its annual awards banquet and Nancy Ball Jan. 27 at The Barn at White Oaks in Southwestern Hart County.

Larry Hill is loving life

Like every other person, Larry Hill’s life has been marked by both happiness and tragedy. However, Hill’s zeal for life and all it has to offer is even more remarkable considering what exactly he had to overcome. Larry Hill was born at home in 1948 in the Shoal Creek area of Hart County.

Happy Hounds barks its way to successful first year

In May of 2024, Happy Hounds will celebrate their first year in business of serving the Hartwell community. In November of 2020, Faith Phillips rescued their now dog Boomer. After adopting Boomer, Phillips had high expectations about dog care.

Rowland Auction Group celebrates its fifth anniversary

This year will mark the fifth year that Rowland Auction Group will have been serving the Hartwell community. Most people in Hartwell don’t know what the building on the side of The Hartwell Sun has been used for over the years. That is where owner Angie Rowland comes in.

With Lake Hartwell Safari, Jeff and Jodi Gray have now provided unique and family-friendly fun to Hart County and the surrounding area for 20 years. When Jeff was a child, his family enjoyed keeping exotic animals, a hobby he continued into adulthood.

Hartwell, Russell, Thurmond Lakes no longer in drought level 2 operations

SAVANNAH, Ga. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District, announces Hartwell, Richard B. Russell and J. Strom Thurmond Lakes have come out of drought level 2 and are now back in drought level 1 operations due to the recent rain over the Savannah River System Basin.
