FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA – Emmanuel University, in partnership with the NFL and RCX Sports, along with support from the Atlanta Falcons is thrilled to announce its plan to be the first NCAA Division II institution to offer varsity women’s flag football.

Hartwell native Nicholas Rucker was named a top student at Athens Technical College (ATC), the highest honor achievable at the regional institution for higher learning. Rucker was recognized with three other individuals during a ceremony honoring top students and teachers Jan. 30.

On the evening of Feb. 5, the Board of Commissioners called a meeting for an appeal hearing concerning a Recreation Advisory Board (RAB) decision made last autumn. The Commissioners began the lengthy meeting by amending the agenda, adding several items to be addressed after the RAB appeal hearing.
