On Monday, Nov. 5, the Hartwell City Council approved the rezoning of a 16-acre parcel of land on North Forest Avenue, paving the way for more residential homes within city limits.

HCHS grad earns statewide construction award

Hart County High School graduate Johnny Barrientos Valle recently earned statewide recognition as he was named a Construction Ready Graduate of the Year by the Construction Education Foundation of Georgia (CEFGA).
Valle is currently a lineman in Georgia Power’s apprenticeship program.

This coming Sunday, Dec. 11, the annual Hartwell Christmas parade returns and at the center of the parade is the big man himself – Santa Claus.
The parade will start at Hart County High School and begin at 4 p.m.

1981: A car crashed into the Maryland Fried Chicken Restaurant on Carolina Street. Police estimated the damages to cost $5,000-$7,000. The car was parked on the east side of the building and then was driven in reverse through the window and part of the building.

BOC focuses on residential growth in comprehensive plan
