Planning commission meeting postponed due to lack of notice

On Thursday, Oct. 27, the Hartwell Planning and Zoning Commission postponed its meeting in which members would have discussed the annexation request by Kenneth Whitworth and Brandt Bentley for the proposed subdivision between Liberty Hill Road and Fairview Avenue.

Sheriff: Man found fatally shot in roadway

A Hartwell man’s body was found fatally shot and hit by cars in the Bowman Highway roadway early Tuesday, according to Hart County Sheriff Mike Cleveland. Cleveland said that the sheriff’s office received a call at about 1 a.m. concerning a vehicle striking a body in the roadway of Bowman Highway.

Since its beginning in 1985, the Red Ribbon has touched the lives of millions of people around the world.
