The Hart County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests:   Oct. 11 • Bradley Causer, 34, of Lavonia, was arrested and charged with criminal attempt to commit a misdemeanor, possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute and possession of a drug related object.

Lake Hartwell FCA to host fifth annual Fields of Faith

Students from Lake Hartwell FCA will join thousands of other youth on athletic fields across the nation on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2022, to share their Christian faith with fellow students during the annual national Fellowship of Christian Athletes’ (FCA, www.fca.org) Fields of Faith event.

Board of Education approves new LED lights for schools

On Monday, Oct. 17, the Board of Education voted unanimously to allow Georgia Power to install light emitting diode (LED) bulbs in Hart County schools to help save on energy costs.

Depot Days, HartOberFest set for Saturday

The Pilot Club of Hartwell and Southern Hart Brewery Company are teaming up this coming Saturday, Oct. 22, to make Depot Days and HartOber Fest, two of Hartwell’s more popular events, a success.

1951: A volunteer statewide effort to enroll a million Georgians and $100,000 in contributions for the National Crusade for Freedom ended for Hart County on Oct. 24. The campaign was dedicated to combating communist oppression through messages delivered by radio and stratospheric balloons.
