Barnes Academy boasts ‘unique flavor’ with international students

The home of Barnes Academy administrator Sarah LeCroy is one of the most culturally-diverse homes in Hart County. That’s because she shares her home with seven international students. “I love them like they are my own,” LeCroy said. “I love the international students.

Log trucker charged with ‘unintentional’ homicide

A log truck driver involved in an accident that killed a Royston man in March has been charged with second-degree vehicular homicide. Georgia State Patrol troopers officially charged 63-year-old Dennis Michael Hoyt, of Westminster, S.C., with second-degree vehicular homicide, a misdemeanor.

Hartwell dedicates Blue and Gold Star Memorial Markers

Dozens came out Saturday morning to Hartwell to support the Gold Star and Blue Star markers dedication at the courthouse. The Blue Star Memorial Markers honor all men and women who serve in the United States Armed Services.

Local gas station owners recount ‘insane’ week at the pumps

Hart County gas stations were still feeling strong effects early this week from the panic surrounding gasoline supply which began over a week prior. Several remained out of gas entirely while others reported limited or capped supply trying to keep up with demand.
