Boys tennis continue losing streak, girls get first win

The Hart County High School tennis teams played three opponents last week before having two called off this week. On Monday, Feb. 28, Hart played Stephens County in Toccoa. The boys team lost 4-1 with only the No. 2 doubles team getting a win.

Track teams take podium finish

Both track and field teams placed in the top three at the 12th Annual Eagle Invitational 2022. The boys team finished second overall while the girls finished third at East Jackson High School on March 5. Madison McClane took silver in the girls high jump with a height of 5-0.

Diamond Dogs strike back

The Diamond Dogs split two games last week before getting rained out this Tuesday. The Hart County baseball team host Jefferson on Wednesday, March 2. The Dragons had just beaten the Dogs, 10-0, in a game called short because of the score difference.

Pine Tree Garden Club spruces up Blue Bird Trail

Pine Tree Garden Club members were doing some spring cleaning around the Reed Creek area. It’s that time of year, when club members visit the five points area to clean out bluebird boxes located on the fence post areas.

HCHS grad honored for 4-H achievements

The Georgia 4-H Dean’s Awards, which are very competitive and one of the highest honors Georgia 4-H members can earn, provide Georgia 4-H’ers the chance to showcase their talent, hard work, and commitment to their community.

Ag week salutes local farmers

They sow crop seeds and raise animals. They care for both as they grow. In doing so, Georgia’s farmers ensure that the rest of us have what we need not only to live, but to thrive. It is not a stretch to view them as heroes, though it’s unlikely you’ll find one wearing a cape.

Legislative wrap up: Week 8

Last week, your House passed historic tax relief legislation, among to benefit Georgians in our state. •House Bill 1302, provides a one-time tax credit for eligible Georgia taxpayers who filed income tax returns in both 2020 and 2021.
