Errors define losses to Lions

The Diamond Dogs were swept by the Lions of Franklin County and also lost to Hebron Christian, 5-4. After the Dogs lost game one at home on March 21, Hart made the trip to Carnesville in hopes to get back in the win column in a double-header versus Franklin County.

Softball splits with Franklin

The Lady Dogs wrapped up regular season play on the road against Franklin County, splitting the double-header with the Lady Lions on March 22. Hart was able to get the bats going in the 8-3 game one win. In game two, it was the complete opposite, as Franklin shut out Hart, 4-0.

Dogs fall to Hebron and Elbert

The Soccer Dogs couldn’t find the win column this past week, as they fell to both Hebron Christian on the road and to Elbert County at home.

Lady Dogs eliminated from playoffs but dominate Elbert

Even though the Lady Dogs were eliminated from the state playoffs with the road loss to Hebron Christian, they looked to finish the season strong starting with a big home win over rival Elbert County.

The Hart County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests:   March 21   Austin Bryson, 24, of Commerce was arrested and charged with DUI, open container in the vehicle, possession of drug related objects, possession of marijuana, and possession of cocaine.

The old brick building looked like a school and smelled like a school. At least it did in my 13-year-old mind. I can still smell the oil-soaked floors and hear the squeaking boards, from when principal James E. Bacon—in his big black wingtips—tromped up and down the hall of Jesup Junior High.

Hart EMC, Farm Bureau donate book to library

The Georgia Foundation for Agriculture and Georgia Electric Membership Corporation (EMC) are jointly promoting agricultural literacy by donating copies of the children’s book “I Love Strawberries” to nearly 400 libraries in the Georgia Public Library Service (GPLS).

Vietnam Memorial in 2023 Tour of Honor

The year 2023 will be the 13th year for Tour of Honor [Tour], a self-directed motorcycle ride that honors American heroes such as military veterans, first responders and American workers, and takes place from Spring until Fall.
