The Hart County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests:   June 24   Stevie Jones, 34, of Canon was arrested and charged with probation violation - aggravated stalking, possession of methamphetamine, burglary in the first degree, possession of a firearm, and theft by taking.

In recent weeks, the Hartwell Sun has published four letters by out of town influencers, two by the same woman from Winder, and two from writers from Athens.

Actions matter more

In response to the opinion piece last week by Kathy Malone, I am in agreement that, generally speaking, “words matter”. I also agree that the U.S. is, technically, a constitutional democratic republic. While it is now common for people to refer to the U.S.

Kudos to our nurses

Congratulations to Family Nurse Practitioners (FNPs) Selena Sanders and Lisa Martin for achieving their advanced practice certificates.  The Hartwell Sun is thanked for putting their accomplishments in this innovative program on the front page this week.

Race and Politics

Republicans focus on the individual vs. groups, races, etc., which somehow gets a racist interpretation, which is bizarre reverse logic. Democrats take the African American/Black community and other groups for granted, expect them to vote lockstep as a group vs.

A letter to two first-time presidential voters

HCCS to offer free meals for students

The Hart County Charter System (HCCS) announced last week that breakfast and lunch will be available to all Hart County students for free during the 2024-2025 school year. The Hart County Charter System is participating in a Free Breakfast and Lunch program for the 2024-2025 school year.
