New clue surfaces in old family mystery

Big Dink went to his grave never knowing the names of two Georgia state patrolmen who came to his aid. That bothered me for more than 60 years. A pair of telephone calls—14 years apart—have solved the mysteries. One for certain. The other, most likely. Go back to Sept. 27, 1958.

I just solved an interesting problem. Here’s its description: A few years ago my son and daughter-in-law gave us a well-intentioned Christmas gift that was a new bit of technology for Janet and me.

Lake Hartwell blessed to host Bassmaster Classic again

Sometimes we like to take a step back and reflect upon how truly fortunate we are to be living here in Hart County. The lake we reside on hosting a nationally relevant sporting event is just another feather in the cap.

Mr. Black and Andrea

The patient lived in a mobile home at the top of a hill of red dirt. The deeply rutted driveway was difficult to maneuver and about half way to the top I had to stop and walk the rest of the way.

Thanks for keeping Hart Co. clean

Over the months, we’ve highlighted several organizations who place an emphasis on keeping Hart County clean and scenic. We just want to take the opportunity, whenever possible, to recognize their dedication and emphasize how important that work is.
Sista cat is a good climber, but getting down is an issue for her. Twice I’ve been lifted in the tractor’s bucket to retrieve her. LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

On the potential package stores referendum:   Here’s my response to last week’s article in The Hartwell Sun, “Question to allow package stores could appear on ballot”. I also sent this to Mayor Johnson (and council members).

Flat Stanley visits Hartwell

I guess its been about two weeks since I received a taped up No. 11 business envelope in my mailbox! Closer inspection revealed it’s sender. It was from Mason, our grandson who lives in Florida. Opening it quickly, I knew it had something to do with his schoolwork. So what do I find inside?

Whatever happened to the time-tested ‘because I said so’?

Someone wrote in to syndicated columnist John Rosemond, asking if he agreed with giving incentives, such as money or chips to be cashed in, to young children to encourage them to help around the house. Here is part of his answer: “I’m not for paying children to assume responsibility in the home.
