Lady Diamond Dogs win first region contest

The Hart County High School softball team (5-2, 1-0) captured its first region win of the year in mercy-rule fashion last Thursday at home — and picked up three straight wins to follow.

Volleydogs start season on a tear

The Hart County High School volleyball team (5-1, 0-0) overcame East Hall 2-1 last Thursday to win its first match of the season — and has won every match since then except for one. The East Hall match stretched into the third game after Hart won the first game 25-20 and dropped the next 25-22.

Bell Family YMCA members have likely seen a new face around lately. Newcomer Megan Lykins recently took over as the YMCA’s Sports Director. The 28-year-old from Charlotte, N.C.

Padded camps a welcome addition

Lady Dogs looking to create 'legacy of winning'

Hart County head softball coach Katie-Jo Gentry is looking to instill a certain quality in her players this season — G.R.I.T. “Greatness, responsibility, integrity and toughness,” is what GRIT stands for, Gentry said.

Hart soccer player has shot at Olympics

Hart County soccer player Lincoln Zemaitis was recently selected to the South Region Boy’s Soccer Olympic Development Program Player (ODP) Pool. Earlier in the month, Lincoln Zemaitis went to Tuscaloosa, Ala. for the ODP Region Trials.
