Lady Dogs drop two rivalry games

The Hart County Lady Dogs’ basketball team fell to two local rivals over the weekend. The Lady Dogs suffered a 65-33 loss Friday to Stephens County on the road and fell short to Elbert County 57-36 on Saturday at home.

Hart boys push winning streak to nine games

A winning streak that began nine games ago continued Saturday night as the Hart County High School boys’ basketball team powered through Elbert County 70-33 at home. It was a one-sided game from the outset.

The Top 5 sports stories of 2019

It was an action-packed year in the Hart County sports world. Between state championship runs, playoff battles and colleges seeking out highly-touted recruits, there was plenty to celebrate for the Bulldogs in 2019.

Terrell signs with young Harris

A Bulldog runner is the newest addition to the Young Harris College Mountain Lions. Senior Morgan Terrell signed a National Letter of Intent on Friday at Hart County High School to run cross country for the Mountain Lions next Fall.

Lady dog joins 1,000-point club

A career milestone was celebrated prior to the Hart County Lady Dogs’ 71-31 thrashing of Abbeville at home on Saturday. Taniya “Nesha” Alexander was honored before the game for eclipsing the 1,000-point mark in her career.

Lady Dogs improve to 3-1 over Morgan County

The Hart County Lady Dogs’ basketball team improved its record to 3-1 after two consecutive region wins on Friday and Tuesday. Friday night, Hart County topped Morgan County 47-31 at home as they christened the newly designated Ensley-McCurley Court.

DOGS GET PAYBACK

A rematch of last year’s state championship game went down in Hartwell on Friday as the Hart County Bulldogs overwhelmed defending AAA state champs Morgan County 70-45. The Bulldogs kept their undefeated streak alive Tuesday night as they surpassed Monroe Area 79-58 to advance their record to 4-0.
