The Hart County High School football team (5-1, 1-1) will venture into the Purple Pit on Friday as they take on Monroe Area for another Region 8-AAA contest. “Monroe Area has a good football team. They always do,” head football coach Rance Gillespie said after Friday night’s loss to Jefferson.

Hart county baller will play in Austria

A Hart County sophomore basketball player is going international. Sean Teasley was recently selected by Student Athlete World to represent the USA on an international sports tour next summer in Austria.

For the seventh year in a row, the Hart County Middle School boys’ cross country team claimed a region title after placing four runners in the top-15 at the region meet in Madison County.

Garringer sets new cross country school record

Hart County High School senior cross country runner Samuel Garringer made history on Saturday. He eclipsed the boys’ team school 5K record with a 15:57.

Fresh legs will hit the turf on both sidelines Friday night for Hart County High School’s homecoming game against Jackson County, following a week of rest for the both teams. Entering their first region game of the year, Hart County is riding a four-game win streak to start the season undefeated.

Dogs weather storm

Lightning delays prevented the Hart County High School football team from playing Friday night, and briefly delayed play in the makeup game Saturday night — but the Bulldogs weathered the storm to remain undefeated (4-0, 0-0).
