Lady Diamond Dogs take out two teams

The Lady Dogs shut down a seventh-inning surge from East Jackson last Thursday on the road to defeat the Eagles 4-3. The Hart County High School softball team (8-8, 2-5) also picked up a 9-4 non-region win over Oglethorpe on Saturday at home.

Volleydogs find 'heart' at home

The Hart County High School Volleydogs (12-8, 3-2) handled Westminster 2-0 last Thursday at home, but fell short in a battle against current region-leader Jackson County 2-1.

Hart's O-line dominates in win over Commerce

The first half was a wavering battle, but the Hart County High School Bulldogs steered the second half Friday night with a score on every offensive possession after halftime to defeat Commerce 40-20 at Herndon Stadium.

Fishing University TV show to come to Hartwell

Internationally televised, Emmy award winning television show, Fishing University, will soon make Hartwell home, filming an episode to air in 2020 and featuring not only Lake Hartwell, but local dining, activities and attractions.

Bulldogs set to host Commerce

Coming off of a win over AAAA Stephens County, the Hart County High School Bulldogs (2-0, 0-0) are looking to overcome the Commerce Tigers on Friday at home. Commerce holds a 2-0 record as well, holding wins over West Hall, 48-17, and Athens Christian, 49-7.

DEFENSIVE TAKEDOWN: Bulldogs ride D to second win to start season

Hart County’s defense held Stephens County’s run-heavy offense to just 101 yards on the ground and two scores Friday night, leveraging a 26-13 win over the Indians in Toccoa. “Defensively we played really well,” head coach Rance Gillespie said after the game.

Volleydogs split region matches on the road

The Hart County High School volleyball team split its first two region matches of the season Tuesday night on the road in East Jackson – moving the Volleydogs overall record to (9-5, 1-1).

The Hart County High School softball team (6-6, 1-4) dropped two region games over the past week, but topped North Oconee 10-4 on Monday. The Lady Dogs held region opponent Jefferson scoreless through the first four innings on Aug.
