Drama unfolds at theater meeting

All 101 seats of the Hart County Community Theatre were filled on Friday night, with more people standing outside the theatre’s closed doors.
The Hart County FFA will be hosting their annual plant sale on  Wednesday, April 5 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Hart County High School (HCHS). The one-day sale will be held in the newly constructed greenhouses across the street from HCHS on Campbell Drive.

Plant sale springs to life April 5

Spring has sprung and the Hart County Future Farmers of America (FFA) are here to help you get your flower beds and gardens ready for another growing season. The Hart County FFA will be hosting their annual plant sale on  Wednesday, April 5 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Hart County High School (HCHS).

County denies request to pull back moratorium

A request to pull back the moratorium that the Hart County Board of Commissioners currently have in place in order to allow for the building of duplex houses was denied Tuesday night during the board’s March 28 regular meeting.

Hart County TSA captures two state championships

A pair of TSA State Championship trophies are coming home to Hart County after the Hart County High School TSA team notched several big finishes at the state conference this past weekend.
The Georgia House of Representatives passed legislation March 20 that would impose mandatory minimum sentences for gang recruitment. The bill now heads back to the Senate for final approve from the Georgia General Assembly before being given to Gov. Brian Kemp and signed into law.

House approves bill requiring mandatory minimum sentences for gang recruitment

The Georgia House of Representatives passed legislation Monday imposing mandatory minimum prison terms for gang recruitment. The bill, which originated in the state Senate, would require judges to impose prison sentences of at least five years on those convicted of recruiting gang members.

The Hart County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests:   March 14   Nathan Moorhead, 30, of Hartwell was arrested and charged with failure to drive within a single lane, DUI, and too fast for conditions.

This Saturday, Hart County will have its first ever Nautical Flea Market. Theo Derleth, who worked to set up the event with his wife Ganine, took inspiration for the event from a mega-popular weekend held annually near his previous home in South Florida.
