Approximately 50 people brought about 18 dogs to a service of the Blessing of the Animals at the Hart County Humane Society Animal Shelter in Hartwell on Saturday, October 8. The service, in honor of St. Francis, was conducted by Fr Reid Hamilton of St.

The Hart County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests:   Oct. 4 •Rolyntra Allen, 26, of Hartwell, was arrested and charged with probation violation, open container in vehicle and DUI. •David Oswald, 66, of Hartwell, was arrested and charged with battery.

Recently, an exotic and farm rescue located in Hart County, GA took in two baby lemurs that were seized by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. It also rescued another male baby lemur.
