Oglethorpe upping commitment to natural gas

ATLANTA - Oglethorpe Power is going all-in on natural gas as a source of electrical generation. The Tucker-based utility, which serves 38 electric cooperatives, announced plans Thursday to build two new natural gas projects in Monroe and Talbot counties.

The nation is focused on the attempt by a 20-year-old to assassinate a candidate for President of the United States. In 2024, the nation has experienced 300 mass shootings (four or more people shot killed, excluding the shooter). We could experience 500 by years end.

It’s a festival

As I sit here there is a fairly loud electric generator running not ten feet away on our right. One of the organizers just came by to apologize for having to move our tent in order to shoehorn the generator and its long, long trailer in place. The generator is part of a mobile food truck.
