Food drive set for Dec. 5

The annual food drive of Hart County will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5, in the parking lot of Hart County High School. Eligibility requirements must be met to receive a food box. Applications will be given out from Quality Foods parking lot from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Nov. 28.

Multiple annexation bills pre-filed in Ga. House

By Dave Williams Capitol Beat News Service ATLANTA – Legislation that would make changes to the municipal annexation process in Georgia, including giving local school systems more input, was prefiled in the General Assembly this week. Three bills introduced by state Rep.

HCHS grad to be pilot

A former Hart County High School student has a freshley shaven head and ticket for flight school as a U.S. Marine. Drew Zemaitis is a midshipman at the United States Naval Academy. Midshipmen in their senior year are called Firsties.

Myra Cook is loving life

Myra Cook moves with the ease of a spry 70 year old, but don’t let that fool you, she could be that spry 70 year old’s mother. At 91 years old, Cook is experiencing one of the strangest years she can remember in 2020, but that isn’t getting her down.

Holiday Bazaar returns to Hartwell

The Holiday Bazaar at Cornerstone Baptist Church is back again, but with a few changes this holiday season. The Holiday Bazaar will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Dec. 5, under a tent and outside at Cornerstone Baptist Church, across from Walmart on Anderson Highway.

Bowersville may get produce stand

Bowersville could soon have a place to buy basic pantry items, like a gallon of milk, in its downtown. Mayor Pruitt Manley announced at the town’s regular meeting on Thursday, Nov. 19, a resident is interested in leasing the old voting building, which the town owns, for a produce stand.
