Guthrie’s, Starbucks still in works

Hartwell will soon have two new dining establishments from which to choose, but they are on different schedules for opening their doors. Guthrie’s, which specializes in chicken fingers, is expected to open soon on Franklin Street.

Tanning salon cuts ribbon on Depot

Glow Up offers an array of tanning services as well as makeup and skin care items for sale. The building is owned by TORCH, which stands for Transformation Opportunities in Revitalizing Communities in Hart.

Mobile home fire claims life of Hart County man

A fatal fire in Hart County may have been caused by an improperly placed space heater, officials say. John David Yates, 58, was killed Sunday, Dec. 6, at his home, 64 Marshal Dove Road in Hartwell, in a fire that destroyed the residence. When Hart County firefighters arrived around 6 p.m.
