Art Center starts scholarship fund

In honor of Evelyn Lundberg’s tireless devotion to the Hart Regional Arts Council, upon the occasion of her passing and with the blessing and endowment from her husband, Bob Lundberg, the ‘Evelyn Lundberg Art Camp Scholarship Fund’ has been established.

The Hart County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests: May 19 • Alexis Paige Beyer, 26, 154 Stilwood Drive, was arrested and charged with DUI, failure to stop for stop sign, possession of a schedule IV controlled substance and possession of drug related objects.

School bus driver sub laments education relief eligibility

Hart County School employees saw a bonus supplement to their April payroll check. However, not everyone who works for the school system received the benefit. Charlene Davis, a part-time retired substitute bus driver, did not receive any supplement to her pay.

Sydney Smith was recently named the state winner in the Georgia Farm Bureau (GFB) High School Art Contest.

Rome & Richardson natives leading neighborhood’s revitalization effort

Two natives of the Rome and Richardson area are working with the Georgia Initiative for Community Housing (GICH) to form a community association. Wentravious Hill and Jermaine Durham want to form a community association to better the once-thriving Rome and Richardson community.

Memorial Day ceremony set for Monday

Following the festivities of what’s sure to be a busy couple of days around town, Hartwell will host its annual Memorial Day ceremony Monday observing the real reason for the special weekend.
