On Friday, April 9, the John Benson Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution hosted Clive Smith as their keynote speaker. The members enjoyed listening to his story of how he and his family arrived from England and adjusted to living in the United States.

Greg and Kelley Gaines have had a dream to open a collectibles store for 11 years. Unfortunately, Kelley was never able to see the dream become reality.

Memorial Day weekend events set to return

Memorial Day weekend this year is returning several annual gatherings, just a year after some festivities were cancelled or postponed by pandemic-prompted restrictions.
The weekend kicks off with the 13th annual Cars & Guitars Festival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Hart County woman turns 100

Pearl Bond, a Bowersville-area resident who has lived in Hart County for 95 years, had her 100th birthday party Saturday.
Bond’s friends and neighbors, who describe her as thoughtful and well-liked by many, threw her a party attended by more than 30 people.
